Built for Australia

What is different here.

The same AI receptionist, set up for where your business and your callers are.

An Australian number

Use a new local Australian number from day one, or keep your own and forward calls to First Voice: all calls, only when you’re busy or don’t answer, or only after hours.

Data kept in Australia

Call data is stored in New Zealand by default, and can be kept in Australia instead if that suits your business or your customers better.

Priced in AUD

First Voice publishes its plans in New Zealand dollars. For Australian businesses we confirm the price in Australian dollars on a call, plus GST.

On every call

Everything a great receptionist does, around the clock.

Bookings, urgent jobs, messages, new leads and spam, sorted while you’re on the tools, with a client or asleep.

  1. Answers on the first ring with your business name.
  2. Works out what the caller needs, even if they explain it in a roundabout way.
  3. Answers questions from your business knowledge: services, prices, hours and service areas.
  4. Books, reschedules or cancels appointments in your calendar or software, or takes a detailed message.
  5. Flags urgent calls to you straight away, or transfers them live on Growth and Scale.
  6. Texts the caller a confirmation or your booking link.
  7. Sends you a summary of the call, with the transcript and recording in your dashboard.
On every plan

Nobody on hold. No spam in your summaries.

Call forwarding takes a few minutes with your phone provider, and First Voice helps you set it up.

Up to 20 calls at once

Nobody waits on hold, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Spam screened out

Sales calls and robocalls are filtered, so the summaries you get are real enquiries.

Live transfer

On Growth and Scale it can put a caller straight through to you or your team.

A dashboard for every call

Every call shows up live with an AI summary, transcript and recording, and you can export any time.

Software

Works with the software Australian businesses use.

Privacy

Recordings and data, handled the Australian way.

Where your call data lives, who can see it, and what Australian privacy rules expect.

Where your data goes

Kept in Australia, if you prefer

  • Recordings, transcripts and summaries are stored in New Zealand by default, on infrastructure First Voice runs itself, or in another region such as Australia if you prefer.
  • During a call the audio is processed in real time by the AI provider that powers the conversation. They don’t keep a copy and don’t use it to train their models.
  • Only you and the people you give a login to can see your call data. It is never sold.
  • Keep recordings from a day up to two years, switch recording off, redact personal details, and export any time.
Honest about AI

Built to hand over when it should

  • If a caller asks, it says it’s an AI assistant, and the greeting can say so up front.
  • It won’t give medical, legal or financial advice.
  • It never asks callers for card numbers.
  • First Voice isn’t separately certified against SOC 2, ISO 27001 or any similar standard, and we won’t imply otherwise.
Do Not Call Register Act 2006

Calling someone who asked you to

When a person fills in your form and asks to be contacted, calling them back about that enquiry is contact they agreed to. Consent is what allows a call to a number on the Do Not Call Register, and it can be withdrawn at any time, so a lead who says “don’t call me again” is not called again.

  • Consent wording on the form says what the call is about, who will call and that an automated AI assistant may call.
  • Keep a record of the form, its wording and when it was sent, so you can show where the consent came from.
  • Competition entries and free-download leads are not auto-called.
Telemarketing Industry Standard

Calling hours and saying who is calling

Telemarketing calls in Australia are allowed Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm, never on a Sunday or a national public holiday, even when the person agreed to be called. Every call also has to say who is calling, for which business and why, end politely if the person asks, and show a caller ID number they can ring back.

  • We set the calling window inside those hours, in your leads’ local time. Perth is two or three hours behind Sydney, so national campaigns get a window that works for every state.
  • Leads that arrive outside the hours wait for the window to open.
Privacy Act 1988

Recordings, data and honest AI

The Australian Privacy Principles apply to businesses with annual turnover over $3 million and to some smaller ones, such as private health service providers. The OAIC suggests explaining how personal information is used at the start of a phone call, and recording a call is also covered by Commonwealth, state and territory laws.

  • The greeting can say the call may be recorded, before anything else is collected.
  • The OAIC recommends AI tools facing the public are clearly identified as AI. Speed-to-lead calls say so up front; the receptionist says so if asked, and its greeting can say so too.

General information, not legal advice. Sources, checked 19 Oct 2026: ACMA on telemarketing calls, the Do Not Call Register, spam and SMS and consent; the Telemarketing and Research Calls Industry Standard 2017; the OAIC on who the Privacy Act covers, notice on phone calls, recording calls and AI products.

Two Wellington garage door companies. More than 1 in 4 calls came outside business hours, and 1 in 8 on a weekend: calls that would otherwise have gone to voicemail. First Voice answers for both companies, day and night, takes the caller’s name, number, address and what’s wrong with the door, and passes every enquiry to the team.

How we know
  • How First Voice counted: Figures from First Voice’s own call records. Business hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, NZ time. Appointments are counted only where the booking system confirmed the booking. A lead counts as reached when the conversation lasted more than 15 seconds. Client names are withheld. Questions

Asked by Australian business owners.

More on the Voice AI page, or ask us on a call.

What is an AI receptionist?

An AI receptionist answers your business phone, works out what the caller needs, answers their questions, books them in and tells you what happened. First Voice’s does this 24/7, up to 20 calls at once, and is set up and managed for you.

Can I get an Australian phone number?

Yes. Use a new local Australian number, or keep your existing number and forward calls to First Voice: all calls, only when you are busy or don’t answer, or only after hours.

Can my call data stay in Australia?

Yes. Call data is stored in New Zealand by default, and First Voice can keep your data in Australia instead if you prefer.

How much does it cost in Australia?

There are three plans by call volume: Starter (200 minutes, about 65 calls a month), Growth (600 minutes, about 200 calls) and Scale (1,500 minutes, about 500 calls). First Voice publishes the prices in New Zealand dollars, so for Australian businesses we confirm the price in Australian dollars on a call, plus GST. Setup is included and there is no lock-in contract.

Do callers need to be told the call is recorded?

Recording phone calls in Australia is covered by Commonwealth, state and territory laws, and the OAIC suggests explaining how information is used at the start of a call. So the greeting can tell callers the call may be recorded, and you can switch recording off or redact personal details. This is general information, not legal advice.

How long does setup take?

Most businesses are live within a week. It starts with a 30-minute video call to learn your business, then First Voice builds and tests your receptionist with you before you forward your calls.

What if a caller needs a real person?

On Growth and Scale it can transfer calls live to you or your team. On every plan it takes a detailed message and flags urgent calls straight away.

Which Australian software does it work with?

Halaxy, splose, ServiceM8, Cliniko and HubSpot can be booked directly; realestate.com.au, PropertyMe and simPRO sync every call; Kudosity connects through automation; Domain works alongside it; Best Practice and MedicalDirector depend on each vendor’s partner programme.
