The QBCC licence number sits in the footer beside the HIA number, and projects are listed by street and suburb.
Visit sextonbuilders.com.au (opens in a new tab)When a hot water system dies or a drain backs up, people pick the plumber who looks licensed, works in their suburb and answers the phone. We design and write six-page sites for Australian plumbing businesses that show those three things straight away, with your licence details set out the way your state asks.

Some people on a plumber’s site are standing in a wet kitchen, and others are planning a bathroom. The site has to serve both without making either hunt for anything.
Your number at the top of every page, one tap on a phone. If you do after-hours work, say which hours, and only say 24/7 if someone really answers at 2am.
The name you are licensed under, your licence number and the classes or categories you hold, shown where a customer or a regulator would look for them. The rules are below.
Blocked drains, hot water, leaks, gas fitting, bathroom renovations. Each page says what the job involves and how you price it, in the words people actually type.
If you charge one, the site says so. New South Wales says you cannot state a price that is only part of the cost unless the single price is also clearly stated, and a plain answer beats an argument at the door.
Named in the copy and set as service areas on your Google Business Profile, so a search for a plumber in a suburb you cover can find you.
Job type, suburb, rough timing, and a note. Quote requests land in your inbox or CRM while you are under a sink, with the details you need to ring back.
A website is advertising, and plumbing is regulated differently in each state. Victoria in particular works differently from the other two. Here is what the regulators say, from their own pages.
Nobody may advertise plumbing, draining or gas fitting work of any value without a current contractor licence, and internet advertising counts. Ads include the licensee’s name, the licence number with the correct category of work, and a business telephone number. NSW: building trade advertisements.
Plumbing and drainage need a QBCC licence whatever the value. Your advertising shows the name you are licensed under, that you are licensed under the QBCC Act and your licensee number, legibly. Websites, company Facebook pages, directories such as Hipages and Gumtree, and your van all count. A trading name alone will most likely be non-compliant. QBCC: advertising.
Plumbing accreditation is granted to individuals only: the BPC does not register or license plumbing companies. Each class of work has registration and licence levels, and only a licensed plumber issues compliance certificates. So the site names the practitioner and the classes held, and is worded so it does not imply the company itself is licensed. BPC: registration and licensing.
Checked on the regulators’ sites on 4 November 2026. This is general information, not legal advice, and the regulator’s page is the final word. The BPC pages we read set no layout for a number on a website. Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the ACT have their own regulators: tell us where you are licensed and we will read the rules before we write the page.
Plumbing is searched with a problem and a place, often in a hurry, and increasingly through an AI assistant. Nobody can promise a ranking or a mention, and we will not. We set up what those systems read, and we make the page they land on easy to act on.
One way to use the six pages:
Service-area guidance from Google’s help page, Manage your service areas. Ongoing local search work is on the SEO and AI search page.
These are Australian trade sites we designed, wrote and built. Click through and see the work.

In New South Wales and Queensland, yes: online advertising counts and your licensed name and number have to appear. In Victoria accreditation belongs to the individual plumber, so we name the practitioner and the classes held rather than implying the company is licensed. Check your own regulator for the final word.
Only if it is true. If a real person cannot get to the job, say what actually happens after hours. If what you can offer is that every call gets answered, our AI receptionist can do that part, and the site can say so honestly.
Yes. The ACCC says businesses must display a total price that includes unavoidable fees, and New South Wales says a part price needs the single price clearly stated too. For work you quote on site, we explain what the fee covers and how the quote works.
A directory listing belongs to the directory, and your competitors sit next to you on it. Your own site is the place people check after they find your name, and an enquiry through it is only yours. Keep the directories if they pay, with your licence details on them.
No. One thin page per suburb is the classic mistake, and search engines tend to ignore near-identical pages. Name the areas you cover, set them on your Google Business Profile, and add a local page only where you have real jobs to show.
A website can only take the enquiry. If calls go unanswered, our AI receptionist can pick them up 24/7, take the details and book the visit, with plans from AU $297 + GST a month.
