The short answer
It depends on your numbers. On 5 November 2026 hipages plans ran from $139 to $649 + GST a month, on a six-month introductory term that renews for 12 months. It does not publish a dollar price per lead: the credits a lead takes vary by job, place and demand. It can pay if you reply fast and know your margin. Track your cost per job won for three months and you will know.

This hipages review sticks to two things: what hipages publishes, and how people have scored it in public. Every figure has a date and a link so you can check it. You should know who is writing: we are a marketing agency that builds websites and runs ads for trades, so we compete for some of the same budget. We have tried to be fair, and you can hold us to it.
How hipages works
A household posts a job. hipages sends it as an invitation to businesses that match the trade and area, through its hipages for business app. You choose which leads to accept, and accepting one uses credits from your plan. Then you contact the customer and quote.
hipages says every lead is capped at 3 businesses, takes no commission on the work and charges no upfront or set-up fees. Every plan also includes tools for quoting, scheduling and invoicing, which you can use on jobs from anywhere. It says over 100,000 jobs are posted a month on average.
What hipages costs
These are the plans on hipages’ own pricing page, read on 5 November 2026. Paying a year upfront takes off 5%.
| Plan | A month | Credits a month | Credits last | Postcodes | Six months* | Per credit* |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $139 | 155 | 1 month | 1 | $834 | 90c |
| Advanced | $249 | 310 | 1 month | 3 | $1,494 | 80c |
| Premium | $449 | 595 | 2 months | 5 | $2,694 | 75c |
| Platinum | $649 | 850 | 2 months | 10 | $3,894 | 76c |
*Our arithmetic from the published prices: the first term is the monthly price times six, and the cost of a credit is the monthly price divided by the monthly credits, rounded, before any bonus credits. Postcodes are where your directory profile appears. Source: hipages, Membership costs, 5 November 2026.
A few other published prices: Essentials at $29 + GST a month gives you the job and business tools without marketplace leads, Pro for businesses with more than 10 employees is $2,049 + GST a month, and a review management add-on is $49 + GST a month. You can buy top-up credits and get lead notifications by SMS for a fee, but we could not find those prices on the page, so we are not quoting them. Ask.
Prices move. PricingSaaS, a third party that tracks pricing pages, recorded the four main plans at $129, $229, $429 and $599 on 29 June 2026 and at today’s prices on 6 July 2026. hipages Group also told the market in February that all its tradies had moved to new pricing plans.
What does a lead cost on hipages?
hipages does not publish a dollar price per lead, so we will not give you one. Numbers you see on other blogs are estimates, often from companies selling an alternative.
Here is what hipages does say. Its credits policy sets the credits for a lead by trade category, location, job size, and supply and demand, and says the amount can change daily, weekly or monthly, right up until the job is marked as hired. So the same job can cost a different number of credits next month.
To work out your own cost, multiply the credits a lead takes by the cost of a credit on your plan. On Advanced at about 80c a credit, every 10 credits is about $8 + GST. Open the app, look at what leads for your trade and postcode are taking, and do that sum before you sign up if the rep will show you.
What tradies get for it
hipages Group is listed on the ASX, so it reports its numbers. These are from its FY26 results presentation of 24 August 2026.
| Measure | FY26 | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription businesses | 33.0k at the end of June | Businesses on a monthly plan, across all trades and areas. |
| Subscription ARPU | $2,575, up 8% | hipages’ revenue per subscription business for the year. Its measure, not a bill, and an average across small and large plans. |
| Tradie and household connections | 2,579,000, down 5% from 2,704,000 | A connection is a business claiming a job, which is what uses credits. One job can make up to three. |
| Jobs with at least one connection | 84% | Most posted jobs get claimed. It says nothing about who wins them. |
Source: hipages Group FY26 results, pages 24, 25 and 39.
These are averages across every trade and postcode, so they cannot tell you how hipages will go for a plumber in Logan or a painter in Geelong. The same presentation says more than 20% of new users move to a higher price point within their first six months, so allow for that in your budget. Ask a rep for numbers on your own trade and area before you sign, and ask how they measure them.
What the public review scores say
| Where | Score | From | Who is rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| ProductReview | 3.7 out of 5 | 9,407 reviews | Households and businesses together |
| Trustpilot | 3.3 out of 5 | 1,456 reviews | Households and businesses together |
| App Store, hipages for business | 3.5 out of 5 | 876 ratings | Mainly the businesses using the app |
| Google Play, hipages for business | 2.5 out of 5 | 153 reviews | Mainly the businesses using the app |
| App Store, household app | 4.4 out of 5 | 5,334 ratings | Mainly people posting jobs |
| Google Play, household app | 2.3 out of 5 | 1.7K reviews | Mainly people posting jobs |
Read on 5 November 2026 on each site, and scores change. Trustpilot notes on its page that it does not fact-check reviews, and the same caution applies to any review site.
Two things stand out. The first is that scores differ by site and by who is rating, so no single number settles it. The App Store gives the household app a much higher score than the business app, while Google Play scores the two about the same. The second is on ProductReview, which lets you filter by reviewer type: with the filter set to people who did the work, 477 reviews show, and its separate Transparency score reads 1.4 out of 5 from 251 of them, against 3.6 from about 2,200 overall. People with a complaint are more likely to leave a review, so read some yourself, in your own trade, including the good ones.
What is good about it, and what to watch
On the plus side, from hipages’ own terms:
- No commission on the job and no set-up fee.
- Each lead is capped at three businesses, and you choose which ones you accept.
- Job tools are included, and they work for jobs from anywhere.
- You can link your own website and Google reviews from your profile.
- You can pause: 14 to 31 days once on the introductory term, and up to 62 days on the 12-month term.
- Its business terms say price, term and inclusions only change at your next renewal.
- Plans add bonus loyalty credits, which rise every six months for the first 30 months.
Worth checking before you sign:
- The term. Six months to start, then it renews automatically for 12. hipages says it reminds you at least two weeks before, and that you can turn auto-renewal off at any time by phone, email or in the app.
- Leaving early. You have seven days to cool off when you join and at each renewal, as long as you have not accepted a lead. After that, the business terms say hipages may charge an early termination fee equal to the subscription fees left in the term, due straight away. That is why the six-month total is in the table above.
- Credits expire. Unused credits last one or two months depending on the plan.
- Credit amounts move. Your plan price holds until renewal, but what a lead takes does not.
- You may be one of three. The cap helps, but it still means you are often competing on the same job, so slow replies cost you.
Is hipages worth it for your business?
Only your own numbers can answer that. Add up what you pay in a month, including top-ups, and divide by the jobs you actually won from it. Then compare that with what you make on an average job, after materials and your time.
| Jobs won from it in a month | Plan cost per job, plus GST |
|---|---|
| 1 | $249.00 |
| 2 | $124.50 |
| 3 | $83.00 |
| 5 | $49.80 |
These only show the sum, using the published Advanced price. They do not predict how many jobs you would win, and they leave out top-ups.
Keep a simple sheet for three months: every lead you accept, the credits it took, whether you reached them, whether you quoted, whether you won, and what you made. The app will show some of this. Three months is short enough to fit inside the first term, and long enough to see a pattern.
In our view, it tends to suit you if: you are new and have few reviews of your own yet, your jobs are small and repeatable, you can reply within minutes during the day, and you want the job tools anyway.
It tends to suit you less if: you are already booked out, you sell bigger or specialised work where buyers compare carefully, or you are on the tools all day and cannot reply until the evening.
Questions to ask a hipages rep before you sign
- How many credits did leads like mine take in my postcodes over the last three months?
- How many of those leads would my plan cover in a month?
- What do top-up credits cost?
- What is the total I am committing to over the first term?
- If I want to leave in month four, what is the early termination fee?
Ask for the answers in writing, and keep them.
What to run alongside hipages, or instead
You do not have to pick one. Plenty of trades use a directory while they build something of their own. The trade-off looks like this.
| Compare | hipages | Your own website | Google Ads in your own account |
|---|---|---|---|
| How you pay | A monthly plan, with credits used per lead | A build and ongoing hosting | Google charges per click on the usual bidding |
| Who else gets the enquiry | Up to two other businesses | Nobody, it comes to you | Nobody, it comes to you, though rivals bid on the same searches |
| What you keep if you stop | The leads stop | Your domain, and the site if you own the files, so check that before you buy | The account and its history, if it is in your business name |
| What it needs from you | Fast replies to every lead you accept | Your details, photos and sign-off | A budget, and someone reading the results every week |
Google Ads: with cost-per-click bidding you pay for each click. hipages details as above.
A website is the slow, steady one: it does not bring work by itself on day one, but it is yours, and every other channel can point at it. Our guide to a website for tradies lists what it needs. Google Ads reaches people searching for your trade right now, and you pay for clicks whether or not they turn into work, so someone has to read the numbers each week. If you would rather not do that yourself, we can run the account for you, in your business name. Neither comes with a promised number of jobs, and you should be wary of anyone who says otherwise.
If you stay on hipages, get your licence details right
The QBCC names directories such as hipages as advertising, so in Queensland your licensed name and number need to be on your listing too. Check your own regulator. hipages itself says it checks licences for regulated trades before you can accept job leads.
Hipages: common questions
How much does hipages cost?
On 5 November 2026 hipages published four main plans: Starter $139, Advanced $249, Premium $449 and Platinum $649, each plus GST a month. They include 155, 310, 595 and 850 credits a month. Check the hipages pricing page for current prices.
How much does a lead cost on hipages?
hipages does not publish a dollar price per lead. The credits a lead takes vary by trade, location, job size, and supply and demand, and can change at any time until the job is hired. To work out yours, multiply the credits by the cost of a credit on your plan, which is about 75c to 90c from the published prices.
Is there a contract with hipages?
Yes. hipages says subscriptions start on a six-month introductory term and renew automatically on a 12-month term, with a seven-day cooling-off period if you have not accepted any leads. Outside that, its business terms say it may charge an early termination fee equal to the subscription fees left in the term.
Does hipages take a commission?
No. hipages says it takes no percentage of your earnings on the job. You pay through your monthly plan and any top-up credits.
How many tradies get the same hipages lead?
Up to three. hipages says every lead is capped at three businesses, and its FY26 results define it the same way.
Can I pause my hipages subscription?
Yes. hipages says you can pause for between 14 and 31 days once on the introductory term, and on the 12-month term twice or combined for up to 62 days. Your subscription is extended by the pause, and you cannot accept leads during it.
Is hipages legit?
hipages is a real, established business: hipages Group Holdings Ltd is listed on the ASX under the code HPG and reported 33,000 subscription businesses in Australia at June 2026. Whether it is good value is a separate question, and it depends on your own cost per job won.
Is hipages worth it for tradies?
It depends on your numbers. Track your total cost divided by the jobs you won for three months and compare it with what you make on a job. It tends to suit newer businesses with small, repeatable jobs who can reply fast, and suits you less if you are already booked out or sell bigger, specialised work.
