Common questions
What should a small business website include?
What you do, where you do it, how to reach you in one tap, proof of your work, how you charge, and reviews people can check. Licensed trades also need their licence details, set out the way their state asks. Our guide for tradies goes through each one.
How much does a small business website cost in Australia?
Two published guides put a small business site at roughly $1,500 to $10,000, before GST where the seller adds it. Our cost guide sets out the ranges. Ours is AU $1,500 + GST in our website sale until 31 December 2026, plus the care plan at AU $100 + GST a month (12-month minimum).
Should I use a website builder or pay someone?
A builder has the lowest cash cost, but you write, design and maintain everything yourself, and you rarely own the site outright. Paying someone makes sense when your time is worth more on the tools, as long as you know what the price includes.
Who should own the domain?
You should. Have it registered in your business name, with the logins in your hands. A .com.au needs a connection to Australia, most commonly an active ABN or ACN. Our nine questions cover what to ask before you pay.
